It wasn’t long ago, November 1, 2014, that we rebranded our hotel PACIFIC GATEWAY HOTEL at VANCOUVER AIRPORT. The name and logo were no accident but the result of a thoughtful process inspired by the hotel owner.
Grateful for the landscape that surrounds the hotel, trees were a natural go-to for the logo. I can remember a simple drawing on a napkin that evolved from one tree to three, representing family and team. Sharing the idea with our team solidified the concept...trees have roots like the roots we have in this Community they said. Trees provide shelter as does our hotel...trees grow like we are, adapting to change, maturing with time. Trees are representative of the beauty of where we all live.
Our name represents our location clearly, but it’s the gateway that seems to really describe our purpose. Proximity to the airport allows us to be a gateway to international travellers, to major routes both in and out of the lower mainland, to our neighbors to the south and even the ferry service to the beautiful islands of the Pacific Northwest. We’d like to think we can be a gateway to new ideas, relationships, business ventures…
Our story is just beginning and we’re looking forward to continuing to share our growth with you, our guest. Pacific Gateway Wilderness Lodge is now part of the family, the Vancouver Chinook Classic is our annual Salmon Derby held in late August and soon, we’ll welcome recreational boaters to the Pier 73 Marina. These are exciting times!
Thank you for choosing the Pacific Gateway Hotel as your home away from home. We appreciate your business and are honoured to be your hosts.
